⛵ Local MDR & Naos Fleet Helm Notes

  • MDR Detached Breakwater: The South Entrance receives direct W/SW swell energy. When swell exceeds 5–6 ft at <10s period, exit and re-enter via the calmer North Entrance.
  • Typical Sea Breeze Cycle: Glassy/light variable mornings (<5 kt) until ~11:00 AM, filling in from WSW (240°–265°) by 12:30 PM, peaking 2:00–4:30 PM, and softening near sunset.
  • Selected Boat Characteristics: The wide chined stern and twin rudders on the Oceanis 37.1–51.1 love sailing at 12–18° heel. Above 15–18 kt, tucking in the 1st reef reduces weather helm and keeps both rudders biting cleanly.
